Dark Side of Dimensions, a Yu-Gi-Oh! film released in 2017, featured no scene changes whatsoever, and the franchises’ newest anime, VRAINS, has very little changed from the Japanese version. While in the past Konami/4K Media has been really strict with censorship on their cards and in their anime, recently both companies have started to care less. So what does this mean? Well, we don’t know for sure, however, my prediction is that this means we’ll be getting the Japanese artworks of all the cards in the game, which as far as I remember would be the first time EVER that that’s happened. At the same time, this is also the first Yu-Gi-Oh! game to get a T rating by the ESRB, at least according to their website.

The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game are rated E10+ for Fantasy Violence, Mild Blood, and Suggestive Themes, whereas this version, which was previously thought to be a port of the game with some new content, is rated T for Fantasy Violence, Mild Blood, and Partial Nudity. There are a couple of things that make this a bit unusual. A few days ago, a piece of news slipped past outlets and it’s honestly a bit shocking, especially if you’re a fan of Yu-Gi-Oh! Even though we are, presumably, a few months out from the game’s release, the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) has officially rated Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution for Nintendo Switch and weirdly enough it’s been rated T for Teen.
